Developing XML Content using FrameMaker - The Time has Come

As more and more companies contemplate migrating to XML documentation, a key dilemma revolves around the choice of the authoring tool.   Up until now, the mainstream authoring tools did not provide adequate support for XML documentation development.  Technical Writers had to make a difficult to choice of picking form one of many exotic tools that required immense investment of dollars and time.  This has been, and remains today, one of the biggest impediments in the adoption of XML.

FrameMaker 8 has become the first mainstream authoring tool to provide comprehensive capabilities to develop XML documentation.  FrameMaker 8 provides support for schemas in addition to DTDs and provides the capability to develop DITA based documentation.  Vast number of Technical Writers who have used FrameMaker for years, can now develop XML documentation with very little investment.  We believe that this will serve as a watershed event in the adoption of XML.

For additional information on FrameMaker’s XML capabilities, download and read the attached white paper.
